Tobago is a small island in the southern Caribbean, and it offers all that one might expect of a Caribbean tourist destination. Politically, it is part of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, though the history of the two islands is distinct. These pages present a tour of historic sites on Tobago that are related to the production of sugar, rum and molasses. During the late 18th and early 19th century, the export of these three products to England and the United States created a thriving economy, the remains of which can still be seen on the island. It is these remains that we will visit....
