My current research centers on exploring connections between John Dewey's philosophy of logic and contemporary logic and cognitive science. My interests also include conceptions of mind and self as related to the question of human origins, drawing on the naturalistic evolutionary perspective of George Herbert Mead's social psychology. I am especially interested in working with students and colleagues who want to explore and develop pragmatist themes in contemporary philosophy. I am the author of Dewey's New Logic and co-editor of Dewey's Logical Theory: New Studies and Interpretations.
