Ms. Clio Andris has received a scholarship/fellowship to pursue her PhD in Information Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The scholarship/fellowship is awarded under the Department of Defense Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation
Defense Education Program “SMART” Program. The program recognizes academically excellent students pursuing degrees in disciplines of particular interest to the (DoD).
The funding includes tuition, related educational fees and living expenses of $36,000 per year. Under the program Clio is also eligible for summer internships at the
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR).
Ms. Clio Andris won the Poster Presentation at the University of South Carolina Graduate Student Day for 2008.

Mr. Eric Tate won a 2008 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Fellowship. This award is based on a students' abilities and accomplishments,
as well as on potential to contribute to strengthening the vitality of the U.S. science and engineering programs. The stipend rate for 2008-09
is $30,000. Fellowships are funded for a maximum of three years and can be used in any three, year-long units over the five-year period after the initial award."
