Fluvial Geomorphology Questionnaires
This survey is designed to gather information about three general questions
based on three questionnaires:
I. What courses are or should be included in the training of a
professional fluvial geomorphologist (FG)?
II. What topics are now being taught in FG courses in North America?
III. In an ideal course, what courses should be included in the
training of a professional FG?
The first questionnaire is concerned with the general curriculum of FG
at the graduate level. The second and third questionnaires seek to
identify standard material now covered in actual or ideal courses on FG,
respectively.
We hope these three questionniares will define the nature of the education
that an individual trained in FG should be expected to have. Our emphasis
is on responses in North America, but we welcome other responses. Please
indicate nationality clearly so we can tabulate results and make the appropriate
comparisons.
Please fill out as many of the three questionnaires listed below
that you can answer 'Yes' to the criteria; fill out no more than one questionnaire
in each category. Download questionnaires in MS Word (doc) or Rich
Text Format (rtf) by clicking on the respective buttons. You can fill
in the forms digitally (preferred) and email them as attachments to AJames@sc.edu, or you may print them, fill
them in, and mail them to:
Allan James, Geography Dept., Univ. South Carolina, Columibia,
SC, 29208, USA.
Results from this survey may be published and will be released via standard
outlets; e.g., the Geomorph List Serve or GSG and QG&G websites.
