    LIBERAL ARTS COURSES: COURSES THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCATION

The University of South Carolina College of Liberal Arts offers courses that use live, televised instruction and videotaped instruction that benefits degree-seeking students, professional educators, and individuals interested in courses for personal or professional development. Courses are offered on a semester system that includes fall, spring, summer I, and summer II. Due to the individual nature of certificate renewal, educators must determine the applicability of courses for their recertification needs with the SC Department of Education. USC cannot determine the appropriateness of any course for certificate renewal.

Admission Requirements

Regulations and requirements for undergraduate and graduate study in the College of Liberal Arts correspond to those of Undergraduate Admissions and the Graduate School. The Undergraduate and Graduate Bulletins are available on-line at www.sc.edu/bulletin.

Admission Procedures

Individuals who meet University of South Carolina admissions standards are eligible for admission to USC and degree programs offered by the College of Liberal Arts. Students wishing to transfer into the college from a USC campus or another college or university must be in good standing and meet the admission requirements for a baccalaureate degree at USC Columbia. Some programs in the College of Liberal Arts have special admission requirements established by the department or committee which supervises the specific degree program. Students should consult the academic bulletin for specifics.

Courses are delivered through a variety of media. All are three semester hours.
